American Seriously Injured in 20-Rocket Hezbollah Attack on Israel

A U.S. citizen was seriously injured when Hezbollah terrorists launched a 20-rocket barrage at northern Israel on Saturday. Two anti-tank missiles from Hezbollah struck a military post near the Zar’it community, injuring the 31-year-old American, an Israeli civilian, and an Israel Defense Force (IDF) soldier, according to the Israeli military. The Israeli victims sustained only minor injuries, and all three were transported to Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya for treatment.

The IDF is investigating why the American and Israeli civilians were at the military post during the attack. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the strike, targeting northern communities near Safed and Lower Galilee. While several rockets were intercepted by Israeli air defense, some managed to get through. One such blast seriously injured a 28-year-old man in Kfar Zeitim, who was rushed to the hospital by a rescue team.

The rocket barrage also ignited several fires in northern Israel. The Israeli Air Force responded to another Hezbollah attack hours later by launching retaliatory strikes, destroying the terrorists’ firing site in Ayta ash Shab. The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah is escalating, with the Iran-backed group launching over 200 rockets at Israel the previous week.

Saturday’s strike followed an Israeli drone strike that killed Hezbollah senior commander Mohammad Naameh Nasser in southern Lebanon. The escalating skirmishes along the border have raised fears that the conflict in Gaza could extend into Lebanon, potentially destabilizing the entire region. Israel’s top officials have repeatedly warned that the IDF is prepared for a potential two-front war, as Hezbollah continues its attacks in solidarity with Hamas in Gaza.

The ongoing conflict has led to the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents along the Israel-Lebanon border. The situation remains tense, with both sides bracing for further escalations amid the intensifying hostilities.
